Flat River and Lake Paddling
We also have occasions when we want to unwind and have a leisurely paddle along a steady river or lake.
Our favourite is a twelve mile round trip from Nayburn Lock into the centre of York, stopping at the Kings Arms pub for a pint.
Paddling the length of Selby canal (10 Mile, see below) is another favourite and is perfect for beginners or a summers night paddle.
To the left is a four day trip to Loch Awe
To the right is a trip to lake Windermere,
We have also paddled, Coniston, Ulswater, Derwent Water and Bassenthwaite. Ripon to York, the River Aire, Ure, Swale, Derwent, and Ouse
Paddling the sea boats on rivers and lakes is good preparation for sea paddling and we also take the sea boats to Beal weir to improve our boat handling techniques.
